Types of Dental Implants
There are different types of dental implants depending on your needs:
Single Dental Implants
A single cosmetic dental implant is applied when only one of the patient’s teeth are missing. Dental implants are applied in two parts. First, a titanium post is inserted into the gum to replace the missing root. This will provide the tooth with support and strength. A crown or denture is then placed on the post to replace the missing tooth.
Full Dental Implants (All On 4)
In the case of advanced decay or the majority of teeth missing, simple dental implants might not be able to do the trick and a Full Dental Implant alternative may be recommended.
Multiple Dental Implants
Multiple dental implants are applied the same way as single dental implants, but will require more work as multiple implants will be placed to replace a few missing teeth. You may be a candidate for single or multiple implants if you are missing one or more teeth in between healthy natural teeth. Candidates must also have healthy gums, jaw bones and oral hygiene standards.
