Dr Heena Harsora

Principal Dentist

Dr Heena Harsora is the Principal Dentist at Wynnum Dentists and an experienced general dental practitioner with over 15 years of Australian dental experience.

Since graduating from dental school in 2007, Dr Heena has built extensive clinical experience across general, preventive, restorative and cosmetic dentistry. She has also worked as a clinical demonstrator for final-year DDS and Oral Health Therapy students, helping guide the next generation of dental professionals.

At Wynnum Dentists, Dr Heena leads the clinical team with a strong focus on high-quality care, gentle dentistry and long-term patient relationships. She is known for taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain treatment options clearly and help patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental journey.

Her approach is calm, honest and detail-focused, making her well suited to patients who value quality, trust and continuity of care.

Dr Heena enjoys all areas of general dentistry, with particular interests in preventive care, restorative dentistry and smile enhancement treatments including veneers, crowns and bridges.

Outside dentistry, Dr Heena enjoys family time, dancing, coastal walks and the relaxed lifestyle that makes Wynnum such a special community.

Ashleigh Vong

Practice Manager

With a diverse background in customer service and management across Brisbane’s hospitality and beauty industries, Ashleigh brings a refined understanding of operational excellence, team leadership, and client experience to her role in healthcare.

As Practice Manager at Wynnum Dentists, Ashleigh leads the strategic and operational direction of the practice. She is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, team performance, compliance standards, financial efficiency, and patient experience outcomes. Her leadership ensures the practice operates seamlessly while upholding the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical service delivery.

Ashleigh is deeply committed to cultivating a high-performing, patient-centered culture. She mentors and supports both clinical and administrative teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Through strategic supplier negotiations and meticulous stock management, she maintains premium-quality dental products and equipment while ensuring sustainable cost control to support accessible treatment fees.

Her expertise extends to workflow optimization, patient journey refinement, brand positioning, and community engagement. By integrating operational systems with compassionate care, Ashleigh ensures every patient interaction reflects excellence — from initial contact through to treatment completion and follow-up.

Outside of her professional life, Ashleigh values lifelong learning, enjoys reading, and spends quality time with family and friends. She is also passionate about global musical cultures, particularly Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese genres, and enjoys life with her two German Shepherds.

Dr Mya Rush

Dentist

Dr. Mya Rush completed her Master’s degree in Dentistry at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. She is a dedicated and compassionate dentist with a well-rounded appreciation for all aspects of dentistry and enjoys caring for both adults and children.

Mya believes in working collaboratively with her patients to understand their unique goals and create personalized treatment plans. She is committed to providing the highest standard of care, using evidence-based best practices to ensure every patient receives optimal, lasting results.

Outside the clinic, Mya values her friendships, prioritizes a healthy lifestyle, and finds joy in the quiet moments of life – either reading, or piecing together her latest jigsaw puzzle.

Dr Sandy Ly

Associate Dentist

Dr Sandy graduated with a Master’s degree in Dentistry from Griffith University and is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. She has a special interest in treating children and is passionate about early intervention and preventative dentistry, helping set the foundation for lifelong oral health.

Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and English, Dr Sandy enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds and making them feel comfortable and understood.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, especially cooking and baking for her husband and her two-year-old daughter. Her gentle approach and genuine care make her a favourite among patients of all ages.

Dr Sandy speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and English.

Dr Mustafa Al-Arkee

Associate Dentist

Dr. Mustafa Al-Arkee is an Australian-registered dentist with more than nine years of clinical experience in general dentistry, periodontology, and implant dentistry. He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and a Master of Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in Periodontology and Implantology from the Medical University of Vienna, one of Europe’s leading institutions for advanced dental education.

Through his postgraduate training, Dr. Al-Arkee has developed advanced expertise in the prevention and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, periodontal surgery, soft tissue grafting, guided bone regeneration, bone augmentation procedures, dental implant placement and restoration, and the management of peri-implant diseases. His training also encompassed complex implant therapies, digital dentistry, implant prosthetics, and multidisciplinary treatment planning.

Throughout his career, Dr. Al-Arkee has provided comprehensive dental care in both private and public healthcare settings. In addition to his special interest in periodontics and implant dentistry, he has extensive experience in restorative dentistry, crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, oral rehabilitation, and the management of complex dental conditions. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care and works closely with patients to develop tailored treatment plans that align with their individual needs and goals.

Dr. Al-Arkee has a strong interest in evidence-based dentistry and lifelong professional development. His master’s thesis examined the effects of diabetes mellitus on alveolar bone augmentation and guided bone regeneration, reflecting his ongoing interest in the relationship between oral and systemic health.

Known for his calm, approachable manner and attention to detail, Dr. Al-Arkee is dedicated to helping patients achieve healthy, functional, and confident smiles through modern, comprehensive dental care.

Kim Okwuka

Dental Assistant

She studied dentistry at the University of Panamá, graduating in 2016.

She worked as a dentist in both the public and private sectors in her home country until 2024, when she decided to begin a new chapter and move to Australia. During her time in the public sector, she also completed a postgraduate qualification in Higher Education at the University of Panamá. She has now graduated from her studies in Australia and is currently working towards her qualifications to practise dentistry in Australia through the ADC.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating (especially ice cream), watching movies, meeting new people and having meaningful conversations, as well as teaching and participating in community work.

Kim speaks English and Spanish.

Mayra Duran

Senior Dental Assistant

Mayra Duran, is a qualified dentist with a specialization in Endodontics hailing from Colombia. Currently working with us as a Dental Assistant within our team, Mayra is diligently preparing for Australian dental exams to secure certification. In her role, she plays a pivotal part in collaborating with dentists during treatments, ensuring a streamlined and secure environment for our patients. Mayra also makes substantial contributions to the sterilization area, ensuring strict adherence to quality and hygiene standards.

Having earned her Dentistry degree in 2015 and specializing in Endodontics in 2019, Mayra focused her career in Colombia on endodontic treatments, the management of dentoalveolar trauma, and the promotion of patients’ oral health.

In 2022, Mayra, accompanied by her husband, made the journey to Australia. During her leisure time, she finds joy in activities such as visiting the beach, engaging in exercise, reading, and studying English alongside her husband.

Mayra speaks Spanish and English.
