Clear aligners gradually shift your teeth into their ideal position using a series of transparent, removable plastic trays. Each aligner is worn for around 2 weeks before switching to the next in the series, progressively straightening your teeth.

Here’s what you can expect from your clear aligner journey at Wynnum Dentists:
We assess your teeth, bite, x-rays and alignment using digital scans and photos to determine if clear aligners are right for you.
We use 3D software to map your smile transformation and create a custom set of Angel Aligners. You’ll receive a visual simulation of your results before we start.
Your first set of aligners will be fitted, and we’ll guide you on how to wear and care for them. Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours a day. You’ll take them out to eat, drink and brush your teeth, but you’ll wear them the rest of the time.
You’ll progress to a new aligner set every 1-2 weeks and visit us every 6-8 weeks to track your progress.
Once your teeth reach their final position, we’ll provide a custom retainer to help maintain your new smile.
A course of clear teeth alignment treatment usually takes 6-18 months, depending on your needs - and how often you wear your aligners!

After completing your aligner journey, you’ll receive a custom retainer to wear while sleeping to help maintain your teeth in their new position. Continuing to wear your retainer as directed is essential to prevent your teeth from shifting.
We’ll also schedule regular reviews to ensure your smile stays on track. Maintaining good oral hygiene, wearing your retainer nightly, and visiting us every 6 months are key to long-term success.
